I'VE always wanted to have a Smart TV, the kind that connects to the Internet allowing you to browse the web, be absorbed in your favorite social media sites, download movies and TV shows, and connect with your friends and relatives overseas.
But every time I'd ask about the price of one (of course the reputable brand), it discouraged me from acquiring one. Since I don't settle for anything less, I'd tell myself I'd wait till Smart TV's prices went down. It wouldn't.
I have a flat screen TV monitor, but it's not smart enough to have Internet connection. It only gets TV signal (from a cable connection) and movies (from a DVD) player.
One morning I receive a call from a telemarketer of PLDT's Fibr who told me about TVolution. I asked what could it do? The guy at the other end of line said, "It can convert your flat screen TV into a Smart TV, which means you can use it like a computer monitor."
Since I have a Fibr Internet connection, TVolution would be perfect. The guy continued that by just activating it and connecting it to my router, I can start using it like a computer monitor.
So, I told him I was surely interested. Several days later, the gadget was delivered at my residence. It was easy to connect to the TV monitor as there were instructions on a pamphlet that accompanied the gadget. And then, after activating it, I was doing Facebook and Twitter alternately.
Now, I told myself, "Smart TV, you can wait till I have enough money to buy a unit. Meanwhile, my TV set is now a Smart TV."

To support its subscribers' use of innovative applications relying on Internet access, PLDT recently expanded its fiber network to 78,000 kilometers. This is part of the P19 billion capital expenditure modernization investment of the PLDT Group as it solidifies its position as the country's pioneering multimedia company.
Now, the multimedia revolution comes to Filipino viewers through the TVolution, a tiny television box capable of accessing the Internet and networking with other devices-exclusively available through PLDT HOME.
Powered by quad-core processors, the TVolution operates on an Android-based platform. It connects to any HDMI-ready TV and syncs with a PLDT HOME Fibr WiFi connection.
TVolution allows customers to stream blockbuster movies and TV series straight from the Internet, using their PLDT HOME Telpad or any Android device as remote control. Its features include 4GB of internal data storage, a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI input and output and two USB ports. Subscribers only need to make a minimal addition of P199 to their monthly Fibr subscriptions to gain access to a whole new world of content online through their televisions.
